A stunning venue
Edgar is a superb Regency property that sits on the ancient Roman Walls of Chester, overlooking the magnificent river Dee. It is within easy walking distance of the historic city centre. Once described by travel writer Alastair Sawday as “Chester’s equivalent of the Royal Box”, we don’t think there is a better venue in northwest England for a small private luxury event.
Several spaces to suit your needs
Our large open plan lounge and dining / meeting area, makes the perfect venue for an intimate private gathering, VIP promotional event, strategy away day or Board Meeting.
The dining / meeting area has a huge smart television for presentations, online meetings and streaming services. An additional snug and cinema room provide extra break out space if required.
Hospitality and dining
For more informal hospitality, Edgar can accommodate up to 25 people. In summer months, our river view garden is the perfect setting for outdoor hospitality and dining.
The house has 7 seven luxurious en-suite bedrooms, sleeping up to 14 people and it is within easy walking distance of good local hotels for additional guests and an abundance of restaurants and bars.

Getting here
Edgar House is a short taxi ride from Chester railway station, 10 minutes’ drive off the M53 motorway and within easy reach of Liverpool and Manchester.
London to Chester is just over a two-hour train ride. We have private parking on site for 10 cars and additional public car parks nearby.
If arriving by plane or helicopter, Hawarden, Liverpool and Manchester airports are all within easy reach.
