The Cheese Shop
Local food hero Carol Faulkner opened The Cheese Shop back in 1985 and now with her daughter Anne and a small, committed, cheese-loving team, they continue to serve the best cheeses from all over the world and right here in Cheshire to locals and visitors alike.

Osier is a gorgeous new sustainable homeware shop up on the city walls off Northgate Street. Sister-site to hypha, the city’s only Michelin green-starred restaurant, Osier continues the total commitment to Chester’s green agenda from this super talented and creative crew. Dried flowers in wreathes and bouquets skillfully created by Georgina are the opening focus, with the business expanding into homeware and interiors and building relationships with local suppliers.

Harley’s Vintage Boutique
Offering the finest vintage-inspired clothing including Barbour, Harris Tweed jackets, Levi’s and natural fabric items. Wine School of Cheshire
We love this place! Situated on Godstall Lane by the Cathedral this wonderful place offers a great schedule of wine tasting events and classes for wine aficionados and novices alike. You can learn what all the swirling and sniffing tells you about and pose your questions to the experts in an environment that is as relaxed and informal as a dinner party with friends.

A bustling market full of authentic and impassioned traders, many of whom have been there for generations. From award-winning butchers to fishmongers, greengrocers and bakers.
The market also has a buzzing and eclectic street food scene, with a number of superb-quality vendors serving everything from tacos to burgers, Thai to Caribbean, and some of the best freshly prepared seafood we have ever tasted!
We especially love Friday and Saturday nights when they stay open until 9pm for some of the best food and drink in the city, and occasionally you’ll catch a local DJ or band performing live too.

One of our favourites is The Antiques Shop owned by Peter Thornber who has been sourcing and selling the finest antiquities for nearly 40 years.
