Edgar’s super luxurious and quirky interiors offer a wonderful blend of tradition, bold contemporary design and modern comfort, and since we refurbished the property it has been featured in various magazines.

The fabulous large open plan kitchen, dining and living space is perfect for entertaining. Relax in the cosy library / snug or play until your heart is content in the fun filled games room (air hockey, table football, darts and a juke box).

Enjoy a night at the movies in the wonderful cinema / TV room, which is equipped with Sky / BT sport and internet connection for streaming your favourite films from your Netflix or Amazon account.

Edgar’s modern kitchen is gorgeous and very well equipped. However, if you don’t feel like cooking we will recommend some of Chester’s best restaurants (see our Guide to Chester) or introduce you to one of our amazing private chefs who will cook up a treat for you “at home” at Edgar!

In summer months dine outside on Edgar’s spectacular river view patio, once described by renowned travel writer Alistair Sawday as “Chester’s equivalent of the Royal Box”. There is plenty of outside seating to eat, drink, sit back and relax whilst listening to the river Dee flow over the tidal weir.

Testimonials

“Wow!!! Edgar House was the perfect place for our family reunion weekend… The modern open plan kitchen, dining and living area was great for us to socialise and dine together. The rooms are luxurious and our teenage children loved the Cinema Room and Games Room, especially the air hockey table!

The whole place was spotlessly clean and the decor is stylish and funky! We will definitely visit again.”

Carolyn T

“Just about the best location.  The whole house is stunning - better than a home from home!

For an oldie Granny like me to share it with three generations of family - playing games in the Games Room, watching a film in the Cinema Room and eating and laughing in the elegant Dining Room - was the best holiday ever!”

Margaret C

"We stayed at Edgar House for my friends 50th Birthday, what a delightful, stunning property this is. Everything was just perfect from the location, bedrooms, ensuite, lounge and kitchen area, downstairs cinema room to the outside seating area.

I cannot recommend this property enough it was superb for a special celebration and I would definitely recommend and look forward to returning."

Rachael P

“All of our family and friends really enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing weekend at Edgar House.  The location is stunning and unbelievably convenient. You made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and it was lovely that you’d organised eggs, bread, apple juice, and even baked for us. My husband was very touched by the birthday card!

The house is beautifully decorated. Everyone commented on how well chosen the books and magazines were.  Our friends and family felt relaxed getting up in the morning to the sun beaming in and the sound of the river below. It was a like a home from home, but far better! Thank you, and hopefully we will see you again for another celebratory get together in one of your homes.”

Syeda A

We were all blown away by Edgar House. The refurb has been done beautifully. As a group with ages from 5 - 80 everyone had space whether playing air hockey in the games room, reading quietly in the library or watching a movie in the cinema room - perfect. The kitchen was well equipped and the chefs among us found everything they needed. Grandpa fell in love with the coffee machine and ordered one for himself!!

The location couldn't be better - everything was walkable.
